Care Is Everyday

What makes Join Homecare different from the rest, is that we believe care is every day. What that means is, we do not charge additional fees on weekends, bank holidays and even on Christmas Day! We're sticking by this because we don't believe in putting pressure on people to cancel visits when they are needed the most.

How much does care at home cost?

Depending on your care and support needs, the costs of care will vary for example, our visiting care services are charged at an hourly rate, whereas live-in care is charged as a total weekly cost. Unlike other homecare providers, we try our best to keep costs of care as low as possible, that's why our starting rate is just £23.00 per hour.

Funding Options

Your Local Authority

Firstly, you'll need to contact your local council, if you're unsure of their contact information you can find their details by inputting your post code here Apply for a needs assessment by social services - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

You can also speak to your GP or a district nurse and they can put in a referral for you. After the council assesses your care needs, they will complete a 'means test' where they assess your financial ability to pay for care. Your local authority will then inform you if you have to pay a contribution towards your care, pay in full or whether the council will fully fund your care. The council will then begin sourcing your care from homecare providers who cover your area.

NHS Continuing Health Care

This service is free of charge and completely funded by NHS. Although not everyone will qualify for funding, it's important to check if you think you meet the criteria. Things to take into consideration are:

- Do you have an illness that may be terminal?

- Has your physical and mental health declined rapidly?

- Do you require permanent or full-time support after a hospital discharge?

If you think you might be eligible, you can contact a healthcare professional such as your GP or district nurse and they will be able to advise you on what to do next. To find out more, please visit NHS continuing care | Free care for a primary health needs | Age UK

Self Funding

If you are in a position to fund your own care and support, this allows much more flexibility for service delivery. We recommend speaking with a financial advisor to ensure you can utilise your funds in the best way whilst receiving the support you need.

If you have family and friends who come to support you every now and again the cost of your care will decrease because we do not charge for advance cancelations. We only ask that you give us 24 hours of notice to avoid any late cancelation fees. For more information about paying for your care, visit Paying for care at home | Age UK
